According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), there are currently 36 countries that operate, store, or dispose of nuclear waste in some capacity. For instance, some of these countries like the United States have over 100 nuclear power plants, whereas others like Brazil have 3. However, whether a country operates a nuclear 

power plant or stores nuclear waste, they all produce one or more types of radioactive waste, be it high-level waste (HLW), intermediate-level waste (ILW), low-level waste (LLW), or very low-level waste (LLW), or very low-level waste (VLLW).
